Triple distilled fine spirits with a combination of juniper, associated herbs and citrus culminate in TIME SQUARE LONDON DRY GIN, a gin with a subtle, smooth and satisfying flavour of juniper.

TIME SQUARE LONDON DRY GIN is one of the most common styles of gin, typically used for mixed drinks. TIME SQUARE LONDON DRY GIN is made by taking a neutral grain spirit, usually produced in a column still and redistilling after the botanicals are added.

In addition to juniper, it is usually made with a small amount of citrus botanicals like lemon and bitter orange peel. Other botanicals that may be used include anise, angelica root and seed, orris root, licorice root, cinnamon, coriander and cassia bark.

TIME SQUARE LONDON DRY GIN is a rather dry alcohol and is rarely drunk on its own, but used instead as a base for many different types of drinks. It can be mixed in cocktails with sweeter ingredients like tonic water or vermouth to balance this dryness.

The invention of gin is usually attributed to a Dutch physician in the 17th century, where it first achieved real popularity, being widely sold as a tonic to treat gallstones, rheumatism, and stomach aches.

Juniper was added not only for flavour, but because the berries have a number of healing properties, including acting as a diuretic and helping with arthritis. From the Netherlands, gin spread to England, where it quickly achieved mass appeal.

In the 19th century, the most popular modern style, the London dry gin, was perfected. The majority of gin produced these days is in the London dry gin style – no matter where it is produced.
